Join the Sustainability Team for a relaxing and social Plant Swap down at the Canalside Allotments!
Bring along your plants, seeds, fruits, vegetables, or flowers to swap with others, and take a break from your desk or studies while enjoying the beautiful University grounds by the canal.
Our expert Grounds Maintenance Guru will also be on hand throughout the event to answer your gardening questions and share helpful tips and advice.
No booking is required, simply drop by anytime during the event.
Refreshments will be provided.
This event is open to all students and staff who are interested in gardening, sustainability, green spaces, or simply spending some time outdoors with the University community.
Whether you are an experienced gardener or completely new to growing plants, everyone is welcome to attend.

Throughout the warmer months of spring and summer, the Sustainability Team hosts a variety of gardening and environmental events connected to the allotments and local green spaces.
These events give staff and students the opportunity to socialise, catch up on the allotments’ progress, share gardening advice, and enjoy refreshments together in a relaxed environment.

This is a free drop-in event.
No booking is required, simply come along when you can.

The Event
Specific Requirements for Access
The Students’ Union takes the needs of customers who are disabled or who have other access requirements very seriously and actively encourages people of all abilities to attend the Event. If you have access requirements for an event, please register your requirements through the email listed below and we will contact you to discuss them on an individual basis.
Cancellations & Refunds
At the SU we understand that things come up last minute and or plans change. However, we really do appreciate it when people let us know that they can no longer attend an event. In some case, where tickets are limited, it means we can release more tickets to students. If you change your mind about an event and would like to cancel your ticket – even for free events – please contact activities@hud.ac.uk or the person listed as the contact on the event you’ve booked on to.
If your ticket had a monetary value (i.e not free) then if you cancel your ticket up to 7 days before the date of the event, we will issue you a full refund.
If you cancel your ticket within 7 days of the date of the event, we will issue you with a 50% refund.
